Vintage Sundays | Gothic program Vaucluse House | Sydney Living Museums

The Sydney living Museums hired me to photograph a Gothic themed day at Vaucluse House as part of their Vintage Sundays programme. The event focused on strange and unusual Victorian mourning practices. Visitors came dressed in Gothic outfits and got to bake Victorian funeral biscuits and learned to make jewllery that was worn during mourning, and sewed blackwork embroidery. Children played parlor games and had their eyelids painted in the style of Victorian funeral photographs.
