Glenn McGrath AM, President and Co-Founder of the McGrath Foundation and Geoff Wilson are pictured at the Sydney Opera House for the Pink Polar press conference and Geoff’s homecoming. Geoff carved a piece of history in Antarctica’s ice this month when he became the first Australian to cross Antarctica coast to coast, solo and unsupported, just the third person in history to achieve this feat, the fastest person in history to achieve this feat and, he achieved all this while dragging a pink ‘boobsled’! The ‘boobsled’, created using a mould of his wife’s breasts, symbolises the purpose of the Pink Polar Expedition – to raise breast awareness and funds for the McGrath Foundation. The Australian businessman, adventurer and veterinarian completed his 53-day, 3,428.53km kilometer journey on January 5 (AEDT) smashing the previous record for a solo and unsupported crossing of Antarctica by 11 days. His extraordinary accomplishment sets a new mark for the world to chase and continues Australia’s great tradition of Polar exploration.
